In my quiet time this morning I decided that in honor of this special day – I wanted to see what God had to say in every occurrence of Chapter 5 & Verse 29 of each book in the New Testament.
Here are the 6 – “5/29” Passages God had for me!
If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. (Matthew 5:29 NIV)
Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. (Mark 5:29 NIV)
Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. (Luke 5:29 NIV)
and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. (John 5:29 NIV)
Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! (Acts 5:29 NIV)
After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— (Ephesians 5:29 NIV)
My takeaway – There is dangerous power in sin, seek to avoid. There is extreme healing power in Jesus, reach out & touch. There is power for ALL found in Jesus, invite others to experience. There is power to rise & live, choose to do good. There is power in obedience to God, seek His approval over man’s approval. Ultimately Christ cares for His body – the church – more than even we care about our own bodies, rest in that trust & assurance!
